L’Esprit De Chevalier Rouge 2018

Second wine of Domaine Chevalier, located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation on the Left Bank of Bordeaux. It is crafted to be more approachable and fruit-forward than the estate’s grand vin, while still reflecting the elegance and structure of its terroir.

The blend is Cabernet Sauvignon–dominated, complemented by Merlot and a touch of Cabernet Franc. On the nose, it opens with ripe blackberries, black cherries, and plum, accented by subtle hints of cedar, tobacco, and gentle spice, along with the signature mineral undertone of its gravelly terroir. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied to full-bodied, with smooth, polished tannins that support concentrated dark fruit flavors. There is a notable roundness and warmth from the vintage, giving the wine approachability in youth, while maintaining enough structure. The finish is balanced, showing length, elegance, and subtle earthy complexity typical of a well-crafted Pessac-Léognan red.
